About the Optimists Club of Glen Lake, MN
Serving youth in our community is our priority and each year we grant money to help fund youth activities and programs in our community.
We are one of more than 2500 local clubs of Optimist International whose members work to make the future brighter by bringing out the best in children, in their communities, and in themselves. You can learn more about Optimist International by clicking here.
The Glen Lake Optimist Club was founded in 1950. The first hockey rink in Minnetonka was built by the Glen Lake Optimists years ago along with the Optimist baseball field. The Glen Lake Cub, the Eden Prairie Club, the Bloomington Club, the Richfield Club, the Prior Lake/Savage Club, and the Northwest Suburban (Golden Valley) Club make up the clubs in Zone 10 district of the Dakotas-Manitoba-Minnesota District of Optimist International.

Purposes: To develop optimism as a philosophy of life utilizing the tenets of the Optimist Creed; to promote an active interest in good government and civic affairs; to inspire respect for the law; to promote patriotism and work for international accord and friendship among all people; to aid and encourage the development of youth, in the belief that the giving of one’s self in service to others will advance the well-being of humankind, community life, and the world.

Generally, we meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from September through May. No registration required-just show up! However, we do vary from that schedule so it is recommended that you contact a club member to ensure that we will be at the Gold Nugget.
